Finance is not released until the start of your course.

If the university has already submitted your Confirmation of Enrolment (Registration Confirmation) to Student Finance, you can expect to receive Maintenance Loan funding as per your Student Finance payment schedule.

If you have had Registration Confirmed to Student Finance after the course start date, it can take 3-5 working days for the payment to be made to your bank account.

To ensure you receive your student loan on time, please ensure you have completed Online Enrolment:

  • New Students: The University notifies the Student Loan Company of enrolment once a new student's photo and ID verification have been approved. These should be uploaded on our website.

  • Returning students: Online Enrolment alone triggers notification to the Student Loan Company. If you have submitted photo and ID and it's been more than a week with no notification from the Student Loan Company, contact the Enrolment Helpline 0161 247 5959.

ID card collection is not required to trigger release of student finance.

Please note: if Manchester Met was not your first choice University, you will need to update your loan application and the original University will then be able to release the funds.

If you are currently experiencing financial hardship, please contact Student Financial Support and / or the Student Union Advice Centre to access advice and find out about the full range of support funds available.
