Repeating the year with attendance means you will be expected to attend classes for the module(s) you are repeating. The answer to this depends on several factors:
Undergraduate students who fail in up to and including 60 credits in an academic year for the programme on which they are registered, will be required to undertake reassessment over the Summer. These students can submit a request to repeat the modules they are resitting the following year with attendance, provided they do so before any of their summer deadline(s)
Students who have failed more than 60 credits and less than 120 credits may repeat the failed modules without attendance the following academic year. They may request to repeat with attendance instead: any such request is subject to considerations regarding course level and module availability.

Where students fail in 120 credits within a standard academic period for the programme on which they are registered, they will be entitled to be reassessed contingent upon their having attained a weighted level average of 20%. Those students who meet this requirement for 120 credits of reassessment will be required to undertake reassessment with attendance. You can only repeat with attendance once. Please note, students that repeat assessments without attendance will not be required to pay any fees. However, if you choose to be reassessed with attendance you will need to pay the full module tuition fee for each failed module. If you have failed every module, and have been permitted to repeat, you will automatically repeat with attendance. Please see the form below:

For postgraduate students, modules will be reassessed without attendance by default unless requested. If you are a student on a visa, please contact the Visa Compliance team (visacompliance@mmu.ac.uk) to discuss your options. You may be able to apply for a visa extension which will cover your reassessment, or you may be able to apply to switch to repeat with attendance, subject to certain conditions. There will be a fee for repeating with attendance. If you are not eligible to stay in the country to complete your reassessment, you may be able to make arrangements to do your reassessment from your home country. Do not complete the form unless you have been advised to do so by the visa and immigration teams. If you feel that there have been circumstances that have significantly affected your performance in your assessments (for example, a medical emergency or bereavement) please review the guidance, including the procedure for submitting a request for an extension or other assessment mitigation.

There will need to be a compelling reason you could not submit the claim on time, and you would need to provide evidence of this. Evidence should be time relevant and from an impartial third party.
